A running coach is someone to share the excitement with, to guide you through the challenges, and to celebrate your victories, big or small. I will support you, offering encouragement and wisdom along the way.
You can get a one size fits all training plan off the internet for free but those plans don't consider your personal goals, family, work, lifestyle, or fitness level. What do you do if you are progressing too quickly for your static plan or need to take more time to build? What do you do if you have a niggle or setback? Your training plan should reflect these factors.
If you are unsure how to train properly for your goals, a coach can help organise your training plan. I will help educate you on running training, gear, nutrition, racing and more. A coach plays the role of exercise physiologist, psychologist, motivator, supporter, accountability partner, and educator.
Elite athletes rely on their coaches and are the best at what they do. What benefits could a coach offer them? I believe everyday runners can benefit in the same ways.
A coach has a different perspective on your training than you do. I will be monitoring your progress closely and giving you the correct work to move you forward. I take the guesswork out of what session needs to be done in each period of your training. All you have to do is check the plan and complete the runs.
I'll make sure you are prepared for the goal you choose. I'll help you with setting realistic and achievable goals based on your current fitness level, schedule, and lifestyle.
I'm from Pomona on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. I do a lot of my training in the Noosa area. I committed myself to running 8 years ago to stay healthy, and it helped structure my life as I overcame addiction. Life began for me at 23 after I spent 6 months in rehab to treat my addiction to drugs and alcohol. I'm now in recovery and have built a life I love with my amazing wife and daughter.
I discovered that the disease of addiction was a superpower if I managed it correctly.
When it came to running if I was consistent and worked hard, it was super rewarding. Over the years, I have completed many races: 100Ks, 50Ks, marathons, half marathons, 10Ks, 5Ks, and track races, and gained valuable experience. I’ve finished at the front, in the middle, and at the back.
Running is where I focus my time and effort outside of my family. Helping runners achieve their goals, stay injury-free, and build confidence in themselves through running is my passion. Running has brought so much to my life, and I hope to share it with you.
